Hi I'm looking for a pre k teacher to help within my district. If you are in palm beach county, Florida. Please email me. I need lots of help .. New to pre k from kinder. Thank you!! Lori
I was hoping that all you great teachers could help me with ideas about how you all introduce the letters to the kids. I usually read a story about the letter and talk about things that begin with the letter and talk abut the sound that the letter makes. I need help!!!!
Sing this: "A says Ah, B says Baa, C says Cah, D says Dah, E says Eh, F says Feh, G says Ga, H says Hah, I says I, J says Juh, K says Kah, L says La, M says Ma, N says Na O says Oh, P says Pa, Q says Qua, R says Rah, S says Sa, T says Ta, U says Uh, V says Va, W says Wah, X says X, Y says Ya, Z says Zee." while pointing to the alphabet.

I agree that music and song are wonderful methods to teach the alphabet or anythings else, for that matter. However, I have to point out that the sounds should never have an "uh" sound after them. For example, the sound for letter F should be "fffff", not "fuh", the sound for the letter K should be a quick "k", not "kuh". Yes, some of the letters take a little effort not to put the "uh" sound at the end but when the child starts learning to read, putting that "uh" at the end of sounds will interfere with his reading. Trust me!
