I was working with a very active class to complete my methods. I just wanted to share a behavior management plan that worked out great. I was teaching the insect unit. I found on Pinterest how to create ant hill desserts using pudding cups, chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs. On Monday, I shared with the class a small ant hill I had created using brown paper and some small red ants also created from paper. I set my expectations for the week. I used positive reinforcement to get the students interested in getting an ant each day. The students knew if they received all five ants for the week they would get to have an ant hill party on Friday. The students were intrigued all week and wanted to earn all the ants so they could receive the prize at the end of the week. I was really impressed of the outcome and thought I would share.
