I am a 60 yr old out of work teacher. I have been trying to find employment for a year now and if I don't find a teaching job soon, I may lose my house, I have taught sciences for 30 years and have a highly qualified endorsement in biology, physical education, and physical science.

I ran into the foster mother of the girl who named me ...See MoreHaven't been to this board in a long time, I see it has slowed down greatly. That is sad! I have good news to share- 3 years ago we were close to closing down. This past year saw a 30% increase in enrollment. For the upcoming year, we have 3 classes already full. Things are looking up!
I ran into the foster mother of the girl who named me "Miss Angel" 11 years ago. The girl was adopted and moved out of state. She is graduating this year.

I would not expect a big salary. As an administrator of a private school, in what areas do you see your greatest teaching needs? What's your location? Thanks!

I am a retired math teacher, a Christian, and have been creating and publishing Bible math puzzles for about 12 years.
When solved, the puzzles yield an answer from the New Testament.
Most of my monthly recipients are day school Christian teachers in the USA and other countries. Also, recipients are Sunday school teachers, churches, and chaplains.
If you are interested in reviewing some sample puzzles for possible use with your students, contact me and I will send some to you. The puzzles will come as attachments to my follow-up e-mail.
The puzzles are entitled The Bible Learning Challenger.
Again, the puzzles are absolutely free to teacher recipients.
Unfortunately I'm unable to access Loren's post. Loren....if your post pertains to employment for a retired teacher in private schools please try again or email me. Thanks!
I am 27, recently graduated with my MA. I also have a certificate in ESL. I have no teaching experience, except for a summer internship I held one summer ago as a middle school teacher. I have volunteered frequently with teen youth and in education programs, such as tutoring (including ESL), museum education, and working at a youth center.
My question is competitive an applicant would I appear given my background? Could anyone offer any advice as to how I should approach a private secondary school?
TerryleighGood luck! Remember everyone has to start somewhere :)

We are in need of an "expert" in the use of apple computer products to train our staff in the use of ipads/laptops/smartboards. Agnon is a private school in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. The job is full-time.
Administrators as a whole are not going to go to a chatboard seeking a teacher - especially this board that services many different states. You need to look at the schools in your state and make some calls.
Good luck

Hi all - I have a sketchy idea of what a charter school is but can anyone fill in the gaps? Also, can a teacher who receives a pension work in a charter school? Thanks!
