We have a day during CSW that the grandparents visit. I have always done a family tree activity, but the grandparents are there for such a long period of time that it is an activity that doesn't fill the whole period. I always feel like I am struggling to fill the time between the classroom visit and lunch. Do you have any ideas for an activity or activities that will cover approximately and hour and a half? This is kindergarten by the way!
Jean Bullock Dana, we usually have Grandparents Day earlier in the year, so we have already done ours. What we usually do on Grandparents Day is to have them there half day and serve them lunch and their grandchildren are allowed to bring their lunches and sit with them and eat during their lunch period. Leah I agree that Grandparents like to see what goes on in the classroom. The children could sing songs, act out a story like "The LIttle Red Hen" and perhaps have a snack together, as well as do a "Family Tree."
