JD Sure, times are a-changin', but at this moment, some employers will pass you over if you attempt to get hired by showing them an online degree. I would definitely steer clear of University of Phoenix. Here is a link to a few posts discussing UOP:

Doctoral Student I am getting my Ed.D at Walden University and anyone who tells you that it is easier or not as difficult as a 'brick and mortar" school is just plain wrong. You need to be more organized, prepared, and grades are earned not given! Walden Ed.D Student I received my master's from Walden and I am now working on my Ed.D from Walden.
