Goudvis sparked my immediate interest because, as I've said here so many times, I'm desperately looking for ways to improve my teaching of history. I was disappointed in this chapter. I nodded, but I didn't jump up and rewrite my curriculum. I did like her advice to "take a more tentative and thoughtful stance," but I'm not sure how to teach 5th graders how to evaluate history. I hope that some of you can help me get more value out of this chapter. Judy
