Well,. I looked at my last post and saw that I was going to try and get a book you all were reading, and that was the last time I checked in. Life is SO busy! Next year I am moving to 1st grade, and I will have a group of students not quite ready for 1st, so another challenge awaits. First grade is brand new to me, and for the last 3 years I have been in 4th and 5th. So, I need to do some reading, thinking and planning this summer. Where should I begin? Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas. Terry
Praline I teach first grade. Two of my favorite books are Reading with Meaning by Debbie Miller and About the Authors: Writing Workshop with our Youngest Writers by Katie Wood Ray and Lisa Cleaveland. If I had to pick the two books that I learned the most from about teaching first grade, those would be my choice.
