Christine Wilson takes kids back to the very beginning to teach accurate decoding. It really could take at least 2 years to see results. Kelly Z I'm teaching MS SS 7th and 8th grade. I've had so many students that are unable to read and keep up (non-sped identified students) this past year, after digging up records and demanding testing, I had 5 students that were reading at about 2nd grade level.

Reading teacher I find it frustrating as a reading specialist that there seems to be a one size fits all mentally regarding remediation. Read Naturally is a great program for fluency, but not phonics. Wilson is a great program for decoding, but not comprehension. Jo Excellent post, Reading teacher. You are right in that BY ANY PERSON/GROUP utilizing 1 program to fix all problems is never going to work.
