1 German Chocolate bar...See MoreMy boss had us over for a "staff meeting" and then served gumbo afterwards. Her house was all gorgeous for Christmas. And she had some delicious cheese & crackers before and sweets after. She bought everything except this candy. There are many variations online, but this is what she made:
Crock Pot Candy
1 German Chocolate bar 1 pkg. chocolate chips 1 bar of Almond Bark 1 pound pecan pieces 1 pound peanuts
Cut up chocolate bar and almond bark into chunks. Put all ingredients in Crock Pot for 2 hours on low heat. Then stir for two minutes, lid off, and spoon onto wax paper by the spoonful to harden.
suzyYou reminded me of a super easy delicious chocolate candy.
Put one 12 oz pckg of chocolate chips and one can of Eagle Brand milk in a large bowl and melt in microwave. Stir to blend well then stir in one can of MIxed nuts. Mix well and drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper
* 2 cups all-purpose flour * 1 teaspoon salt * 2 teaspoons baking soda * 1 cup butter or margarine * 2 cups white sugar * 2 cups mashed overripe bananas * 4 eggs, beaten * 1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9x5 inch loaf pans. 2. Sift the flour, salt and baking soda into a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the butter or margarine and sugar until smooth. Stir in the bananas, eggs, and walnuts until well blended. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, and stir just until blended. Divide the batter evenly between the two loaf pans. 3. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes in the preheated oven, until a knife inserted into the crown of the loaf comes out clean. Let the loaves cool in the pans for at least 5 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack, and cool completely. Wrap in aluminum foil to keep in the moisture. Ideally, refrigerate the loaves for 2 hours or more before serving.
Footnotes
Tips * Do not taste this in advance of serving. * Do not cut loaves prior to serving. * Hide it from yourself, your spouse, kids, neighbors and contractors who may be downwind until ready to serve. * Cut at the last possible moment, and finally, * pre-print 8 or 10 small recipe sheets and leave them wherever you put the EBNB (seriously) otherwise you'll have lots of people bugging you for the recipe.
Combine pecans, brown sugar and flour, mix together while you are melting the butter. Once butter is melted let sit for a few minutes to cool. Beat 2 eggs until foamy. Mix eggs and butter and mix together, pour over the dry mixture. Mix well. Spoon batter into muffin tin that you have greased with Pam. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes. I baked less as my muffin pan is dark nonstick and it tends to make my muffins dark and sometimes burns them on the bottom. So I baked them for about 15 to 18 minutes.
1 large can sliced pineapple 1 large can crushed pineapple 1 box yellow cake mix 1 stick butter Line bottom of cold skillet with pineapple slices. Cover with crushed pineapple. Pour cake mix over pineapple. Top with one stick of butter, in pats. Put in cold oven at 300º for one hour.
(Add cherry or blueberry pie filling instead of sliced pineapple.)
Should be smelling good by the time the talent starts up.
ReOn 3/29/10, Louisiannie, who only cooks on holidays, you see! wrote: > I've done cherry and blueberry pie filling (WITH the pineapple bits). > > I've never tried pumpking, but MUD would taste good in this cake! haha I had not thought of that. Thanks I can't wait to try it.
Also, chili is very good in the crock pot. I brown my hamburger first on the stove and then put it in the crock. I use tomato sauce and sometimes some diced tomatoes. Of course the beans you like....some chili powder. Whatever you like.
It's nice to come home to something ready for dinner. You will love your crock!
3 cups mashed potatoes 1/2 stick butter 1/2 cup cream dash of salt. 1 1/2 cup flour.
Mix well. Heat a griddle. Do not oil. Lefse must be cooked on a dry griddle. Take a small amount and roll out like pie crust thin enough to handle. Pick up carefully and place on hot griddle until brown. Turn until brown. Cool. Serve buttered and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.
Can use jelly, jam, or any other filling you choose.
Hi all ~ I am looking for a recipe for a Russian bread - it's more of a dessert or breakfast bread, and has a filling of poppy seeds and almond paste. My mom was given one at Christmas and it's delicious! She doesn't remember the name, so I'm hoping someone recognizes this and has the recipe. Thanks!
For the sauce I usually use my favorite BBQ sauce----which of course, varies with taste and region. Here in AZ, I use Bill Johnson's BBQ sauce--it is sweet with the right amount of tang.
No matter what bottled sauce I use, I always add some of my own ketchup and brown sugar mix (equal parts, stirred up).
I really dislike slippy joes made with Manwich or any other type of tomato sauce.
My husband has been Mr. mom since he broke his foot in a car accident last summer. Times are still tight, but he can walk now. I need some dinner recipes for 2 picky eaters and a third 1 1/2 yr. old that will eat ANYTHING! Can you help this new Kindergarten teacher with any recipes?
