DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Teaches material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule to assure appropriate student satisfaction. 2. Assists students in achieving completion of course learning objectives by providing regular, accurate and timely feedback to students relative to their performance. 3. Establishes and maintains a positive, student- centered learning environment by exemplifying proper online decorum and requiring the same of students. 4. Advises students on matters related to academics, attendance, professionalism and Think/Build/Live Success principles. 5. Participates in institution’s student success and retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students. Assists with resolution of students’ concerns. 6. Advises students on matters related to academics, attendance, professionalism and Think/Build/Live Success principles. 5. Participates in institution’s student success and retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students. Assists with resolution of students’ concerns. 6. Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process (i.e. class discussions, student survey feedback, student-to-student collaboration, outside assignments, research, tracking their own performance accomplishment, etc.) 7. Maintains and reports student grades and attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures. 8. Completes professional development and in-service activities in accordance with institutional requirements. 9. Maintains expertise in subject area in order to provide students with current trends and to recommend improvements in curriculum and instruction. 10. Effectively communicate by email and telephone with students, other instructors, supervisors, other school and corporate personnel. 11. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Able to work evenings and weekends.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES:

1. Education • Instructors teaching non-General Education courses must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 18 semester (or equivalent) credit hours in the field of study in which they are teaching. • Instructors teaching General Education courses… • Formal education degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. The required level of academic preparation may be higher in some states.

2. Experience (industry and/or teaching) • A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in the subject matter area is required. • Online teaching experience in an accredited post secondary institution is preferred.

3. Superior interpersonal and communication skills • Presentation skills to all levels of employees and/or students • Interact in a cooperative and professional manner with other team members • Ability to utilize a variety of methods and media to facilitate instruction

4. Computer skills and equipment • Efficiently utilize Microsoft Office, learning management system and Internet browser software • Possess and maintain an operable personal computer with adequate Internet access

5. Creative, innovative, problem solving skills • Identify and analyze key elements of a situation and exercise critical thinking, problem solving and judgment skills • Work within an academic team to solve complex problems for groups and/or individuals

6. Strong work ethic • Learner-centered, service approach to adult learners • Appropriately prioritize and organize to complete all job responsibilities in a timely manner • Work independently with minimal supervision

7. Acquire and maintain appropriate licenses/certificates required by state and/or accrediting commissions.
