Is anyone else having a difficult time impementig the new ngss standards? I can seem to find any flow and connection. Students lack the background so I'm all over the place. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Do you think this concept applies for all grades? I teach Science to students from Year 2 to Year 8. I have been given a similar suggestion to this for a 2/3/4 class to maintain good classroom management. Do you think it would work as well with a Year 7/8 class?

For the first time in 20 years of teaching science, I had white vinegar with a sort of slime in it. The internet says white vinegar has an indefinite shelf life. Has anyone else experienced this?
Paul KieferIt is probably what is called "mother of vinegar". It is a fungus or something similar. Try goggling it. If I remember correctly, it is not harmful, it just looks bad.
I am looking at beginning a dc electricity unit with my third graders. I was wondering if anyone has tried this before, if there are any tips or tricks, or places online to look for scope and sequence. I was also curious about whether decent kits are available or if its better to buy bulk and create my own kits.
