Hello Science teachers! I've been searching and have not find the information that I need. I realized that I must ask the pros. I'm an elementary school teacher who enjoys science. I'm looking to get certified in middle school. I know I'm required to take up to 15 credits. What classes do you recommend? Please list them.

We have a unique teaching opportunity to teach Science to high performance athletes and other pupils on an individual basis- Key Stages 3 and 4. Teaching takes place in our classrooms in a beautiful setting by the River Thames and Chiswick Bridge. Please email us at [email removed].
Our Father Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy name Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day, our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil For thine is the Kingdom And the power And the glory Forever
Amen
The Science Based Lord”s Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the principles of the United States of American, that all are endowed with certain inalienable rights, and that among those rights are life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and the pursuit of Science Based Love, while emitting as little CO2 as possible.”
Now, how does one arrive at the Science Based Lord’s Prayer and the Science Based Lord’s Pledge of Allegiance using only scientific terms?
Let us start with some definitions.
Science Based Love is defined as a “an act or state of being which sustains life, or enhances life, or makes life possible.”
Where can we see science based love?
Let us start with a mother nursing her baby. She feeds her baby, clothes her baby and takes care of her baby. These actions show she loves her baby on an intellectual and emotional level within her mind. This is love we all can recognize. This is also Science Based Love for these are acts which sustain and enhance and make the life of her baby possible.
Are there other acts of Science Based Love going on as she nurses her baby?
Yes, the cells lining her breast ducts are producing milk that is sustaining and enhancing and making possible the life of her baby. Each of the cells secreting milk are performing acts of Science Based Love. Can we see other acts of science based love within her and within all of us? Our hearts beat 70 times a minute all the minutes of our lives. Every beat of our heart represents forty billion acts of science based love by each of the cells of our heart.
Do your other cells science based love you? Yes, your 20 trillion red blood cells science based love all your other cells. Every second of your life they are either delivering oxygen to all your other cells, or taking deoxygenated hemoglobin back to your lungs to get more oxygen for all your other cells.
What about your muscle cells? Yes, they are always there to contract and help you get the food you need to sustain all your other cells.
What about your bone cells? Yes, without your bones to support you, your muscles could not contract and be able to move you to where you needed to go.
If we think about each of your 37 trillion cells, every healthy cell has a job which sustains your life and makes your life possible. Every minute of your life your 37 trillion cells are performing 37 trillion acts of science based love.
Do your cells have to science based love themselves in order to science based love other cells? Yes, all of your cells have to pump sodium out of their insides, and pump potassium into their insides. This allows them to have the right amount of sodium outside and the right amount of potassium inside. This allows your nerve cells to send waves of depolarization down their axons, and release neurotransmitters to your muscle cells, telling them to contract and move you to where you need to go.
All your cells must science based love themselves so that they can science based love all your other cells.
When was the first act of science based love? In the first second of the Big Bang the universe expanded at just the right rate to support life. If the rate of expansion one second after the Big Bang had been even 1 millionth of 1&37; slower, gravity would have collapsed the universe after a few million years. On the other hand, if the rate of expansion had been just 1 millionth of 1&37; faster, all would have been dusts, and not atoms or planets or you or met would have been able to form. (Page 10 of Brian Swimme’s book Journey of the Universe.)
If we define science based love as an act or state of being which sustains life, or enhances life, or makes life possible, then we can see science based love in the first second of the Big Bang 14.7 billion years ago.
And ever since there have been more acts of science based love than we can count. And each of these acts of science based love were necessary for us to be here today enjoying the acts of science based love that must occur for us to be aware of this moment.
If we define a Science Based God as Science Based Love and a Science Based Lord, then our conscious mind can begin to say a Science Based Prayer to our subconscious mind very similar to the Christian Lord’s Prayer.
We can define a Science Based Lord as that which established the laws of science
using the world “Lord” in a way similar to the word ”Lord” in the House of Lords in England. In England the laws of the land are established by the House of Lords.
In our universe the Laws of Science have been established by the Science Based Lord. Some people believe in a multiverse, and think it is mere chance that the Laws of Science are so perfect, so perfect that life on earth can exist. For them, the Science Based Lord is a matter of luck, and we are just lucky to live in this universe. Believers in the multiverse believe there are more universes than we can imagine. They say there must be about
Whether there is one universe or 10 to the 10 to the 16 universes, we can still realize Science Based Love as the Source of Life, and the Science Based Lord as that which established all the laws of science.
A prayer is an earnest hope or wish. As our conscious mind says the Science Based Prayer to our subconscious mind, we can imagine ourselves and the world transformed by the words of this prayer.
How might this prayer to our Science Based Lord be worded?
How about the following?
First let us define “Father” as the Source of Life and the “Science Based Lord” as that which established the Laws of Science like gravity and electromagnetism.
Let us define a science based heaven as a place where beings “science based love thy neighbor as thyself.” In particular, think of the heaven within you where each of you 37 trillion cells science based love themselves as they science based love all your other cells.
Then the prayer might read:
Our (Science Based) Father Who art in (our science based) heaven.
(This “heaven” is within our body when we are healthy and all our 37 trillion cells are successfully science based loving themselves as they science based love all our other cells.)
Hallowed be thy name
(“Hallowed” meaning “holy”, and “holy” defined as “that which brings forth life”) (“Name” as a symbol which captures the essence of something.) (The word “thy” implies we are talking to a person. Where is this person? In our subconscious mind.)
Thy Kingdom come (to the people around me) Thy will be done ( by me and the people around me) On earth as it is in heaven
(the heaven within my body where my cells science based love their neighbor as they science based love themselves)
Give us this day, our daily bread.
(Thank you for the science based love that has provided our food)
And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us.
(May our subconscious mind forgive us for not science based loving ourselves and those arounds us as well as we might. May our subconscious mind forgive us for the coal, oil and natural gas we are burning, as we attempt to forgive others for their CO2 emissions).
in the diffusion through a membrane lab, does anyone realize that sugar is too big of a molecule to diffuse through a membrane with out a protein channel?
bobalready using artificial membrane / dialysis tubing and attempting to diffuse corn starch through it. not having any success. trying to get a feel for what the problem is.
I think that's the point. Small sugars can go through the membrane. Starch can not. The iodine (your starch indicator) should be small enough to go through the tubing. So the inside liquid will turn black/blue while the liquid outside will stay an amber color.
I believe in incentives and rewarding aspiring Science students, I would like to help encourage Science achievements so I am offering decks free for Science Week to 3 schools that thinks this may benefit their students. This offer is only available to Australian schools at this time. If you think you have a few outstanding students who deserve to be rewarded message me.
