How do you cover textbook reading in your middle school science class? Do students read aloud in class or is reading assigned as homework with discussions in class? Any ideas of what works best for comprehension?
Zodea Google "cued retell" and give that a try.

Basically it makes students interact with the reading far more than they normally would.

I started using the SQ3R method and am seeing improved comprehension
