Is it just me, or are the next generation science standards for middle school going to be impossible for students to master?

Nan I'm not sure what to think. I teach high school and have no idea how we are going to make all the changes needed. No one wants to give up Chemistry as a class so we are going to need to require all students to take at least a semester of physics.

Train wreck approaching The new standards are an absolute joke for junior high/middle school. I compare it to the idea that all students should have algebra in 8th grade whether they are ready for it or not. These new standards will turn students off to science.
