Help,I am tired of doing the same ideas for book reports for my guided reading. I am trying to find different ideas to show that the children know the book. My levels go from 1st grade all the way to 6 grade. If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks.

Have any of you jumped from K to 2nd before? Could you provide any insight/advice on what I will encounter? Any helpful tips/things that really work for you at that grade level?
Thanks ahead of time for your responses. I hope this 2nd grade chatboard is as helpful as I have found the K chatboard to be over the years.
Does anyone have any good ideas for an educational Easter Egg Hunt. I'd love to have my students search for eggs with vocabulary words/definitions or math problems in them but can't figure out exactly how to do it. Any suggestions???

I have a friend that was given 2 options ...resign or be nonrenewed....she was a teacher who was placed at the administration building...she does a great job but they are cutting some jobs at admin and hers was cut...after calling teacher union, she chose to resign ...what should she expect? Can she get unemployment?
Hey all, was wondering if any of you have any ideas of what students could do for a retiring principal. Ours is sadly retiring and I would like my students to make something...ANY THOUGHTS OR IDEAS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Once I received a huge card. On the front it said, "WE LOVE YOU" and on the inside it said THIS MUCH! and it had a Kelly Bear picture with his arms outstretched beyond the card. All of the children signed it.
It could say, "WE WILL MISS YOU" and on the inside have a picture of the class with the children's signatures.

KHow about having your your class write and illustrate a book about an upcoming adventure of the retiring principal? Make sure to make a few copies and have them available for students to reread.

Many of the books are available from Scholastics Book Clubs, if you already don't have them.
Enjoy!
