I'm looking for ideas I can send home to practice fluency, besides just having the kiddos take home a book to read. Any great ideas that have helped?

Chena Gina, I do exactly the same thing, over the protests of 2 of the other 3 second grade teachers. These teachers thought this was too demanding, but the kiddos have really taken to it and love to see their progress. These below grade level kiddos need to do MORE, not less than their peers.

KathyB It is not free, but you can print a wealth of fluency passages from Reading A to Z. They aren't too long and they are all leveled, so you are insuring success.
