When I was in middle school, cell phones were not allowed in school. Now, kids of all ages have some kind of cell phone or smart phone. Does anyone think there is a way that cell phones can be used educationally in a class room? I think if kids could use cell phones during a lesson, it might keep them interested, just not sure how this could be done.
Lisa Your second graders have cell phones? I am not aware of any of my kiddoes having a cell phone with them in school!

Leah What about the child who does not have one? Personally, I think young children are on these phones too much and that they need to be kept in their backpack or at home in second grade.

Leanne/CA Our technology department says that each child bringing a device such as a cell phone, iphone, ipad, tablet, ipod touch, etc. shouldn't start until after the 4th grade. I agree-2nd grade is too young.
