It has taken a couple of months to really expand on the basics of the NEO2 - but, WE LOVE IT. Last spring our principal purchased a portable lab (cart with 30 NEO2's) we divided them between the two LA teachers on our hall. We have used the NEO2's for word processing, beaming information for peer editing, AR, Acceltest (students are able to test at their own pace on a teacher created test - students log on using their student # and the tests are graded and placed in a gradebook on the teachers computer). Let me know if there is any information that I can give to you

Our core users are students who like to create music, listen to music and build communities with their friends using creative forms of online media such as video or audio contents. We also believe that Musicshake is an excellent tool that can introduce students to the realms of music education in a new world where the end goal of music education is not to make every student into a professional musician, but rather to cultivate their minds by creating a virtuous cycle where every student can appreciate good music for his/her personality building and achievement.

We are evaluating the idea of creating mobile labs at the elementary level in order to utilize the lab space as classrooms. I am not certain that laptops are the best idea at that level and wondered if other schools have implemented other portable computing tools.
See that there is expensive equipment that I could buy, but also found a software Cassette2CDWizard that sounds maybe a bit too improbable... [link removed]
I work as a Media Technician at a Junior College. I would purchase a digital voice recorder. This is the model we use on campus: Olympus WS-100 64 MB Digital Voice Recorder with USB Interface
The USB interface will allow you to take those recordings and save them onto your computer/laptop's hard drive. My advice is to not put them onto CDs as like everything this will have a shelf life.
Donna
You can purchase a new or used Olympus WS-100 from Amazon.
Try imic (adapter for mac computer) will use software provided with the adapter to convert your cassette to CD. Less than $40 when I purchased it. Easy and it really works.
Is there a way to interface the Promethian with the Elmo, so that they are not used at different times? I would like to scan onto the Promethian with my Elmo instead of having to go to the copying machine to scan in pictures and documents.
