We recently received a new computer in our classroom. On our old computer was the Edmark Kids Desk program. However, we don't have the software to put it on our new computer. Does anyone know where I can buy it or download it?
Does anyone use Realtime for student grades/attendance? I an trying to figure out how to display student grades in all classes in list format. Thanks for any help.
I write software for educational use along with tutorial videos. Software for teachers to do lesson plans, manage discipline and just about what every you can think of. For educational use I have created self grading testing program for Math, Spelling (with voice), Science and etc. Email me with a need, I can solve your problem.
1)Do you use technology in your classroom? ie smartboards, powerpoint, ordifferent educational software...
2)How do your students respond to your use of technology?
3)Have you noticed a difference in your students abilities to process and retain information because of your use of technology?
4)Do your students who normally struggle in areas of reading and comprehension have higher levels of achievement when content is delivered traditionally or when delivered technologically? For example if comparing a lecture without powerpoint to one using it, do you feel you capture student attention more positvely... do students who use a computer to do research for a project produce better work compared to students who use books?
5)Do you believe technology should be used in the classroom? Can an educator be as effective without using technology to deliver content? Can you achieve your lesson plan goals without it?
6)Do you feel programs like microsoft word have a postive effect or negative effect on student vocabulary or grammar skills? Do you feel this can act as a crutch or actually exposes them to vocabulary and writing methods that they can use?
7)Does your school/district invest money into technology? Does it actually have a plan concerning its use?
8)Does your use of technology help students grasp the curriculum? How do you know this?
9)Does your school/district provide training on how to use these tools or are you left to figure it out on your own? Are you interested in recieving technology use training?
10)What is one way you used technology in your classroom and did you use it with the intention to improve/support student literacy development?
Thank you so much for considering the answering of these questions... I know you all have so much on your plates... I wish you all the best...

RonIf you are a college student, then Digital River has it for sale. I just built my Win7 64-bit box...pretty nice. Added 2 Gb of DDR3 RAM for a total of 6 Gb now, added 2 more hard drives, and should be go to go for 2 more years. I have a Windows Experience of 6.4 on a 2 year old machine. The money I save I will use to buy another Mac.
Moodle is an open-source user friendly learning management system that the District School Board of Pasco County has begun implementing district wide. There needs to be a dedicated network admin to install the software and such, but the user end and creation of online learning environments for students is relatively easy once you get started. Hope this helps, Jennife
Does anyone have experience with the program TeenBiz3000? Do you like it? Do your students like it? Can anyuone recommend any other literacy-based computer programs? Thanks
