My school's looking at buying some sort of software to help elementary students with their reading, and the principal's been leaning towards Study Island. Has anyone used it? Is it worth it? if anyone has recommendations for other options I'd love to hear them - our past few attempts to find effective software have been flops.

Very good. It is also interesting: http://www.mozalearn.com MozaLearn, the comprehensive digital educational system, has been developed for students and teachers to use with interactive whiteboards; to aid home learning with online exercises and supplementary contents; and to reduce the administrative workload of schools with a data handling program.
[link ...See MoreI would like to pass along a cool bingo caller I found on google that has different languages. It has English, French, Spanish, and Mandarin numbers. It is the 6.0.1 version of MHX Bingo Caller.
I found a link to the site to get the free version (which I guess includes all the parts of the program (on a time limited deal)
Divine LovepeaceRoberta, What benefits have you noticed from using matching games for your students? Have you measured the level of concentration before and after using them? How often would you/do you play them with your class? I would really like to know how significant the improvement in concentration would be.
