The NSLI-Y program provides merit-based scholarships for eligible high school students and recent high school graduates to learn less commonly taught languages in summer and academic-year overseas immersion programs. The program immerses participants in the cultural life of the host country, giving them formal and informal language practice and sparking a lifetime interest in foreign languages and cultures. Summer and academic year programs are available for Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Persian (Tajiki), Russian, and Turkish. The deadline to apply for NH19 programs is October 30, 2018 at 4:00 pm ET. More information about the program and application can be found at http://www.nsliforyouth.org.
Outbound CBYX and YES Abroad NH19 applications are expected to launch within the next month, and we'll post an update here in MyAFS once those applications are available. In the meantime, interested volunteers and potential applicants should visit the program websites to learn more or to register to be notified once an application opens:

The book can be used also for prepraring DELE exam, wich is really similar to SIELE. It has a los of exercises for all levels, so you can also use them for your classes.

We are so tired of Asi Se Dice and want to change. Any suggestions of Spanish 1-3 textbook series that are iPad friendly? We have been looking at Autentico and Senderos, but Senderos costs about 5 times as much!
Just wondering what people think of those, or if you have another suggestion.
Daniel HansonSenderos, hands down. Autentico is just Realidades with a new name. Senderos is Descubre, but it has better pacing now for high school classes. There is new technology and they have very good features with voice recognition. You can create new assignments as well as change the online assessments. The tutorials are more interactive as well.
Hi, my school has decided to stop using Realidades as a textbook, and I am wondering if there's a teacher or school district who would like some extra copies. We have realidades 2,3, and some 4. Please unicast me if interested, and I will try get them mailed to you. ([email removed])
Ed vdsI would say it depends on where you want to put the emphasis. Certainly, the last sentence is fine since the verb ending indicates the subject. The first sentence I would think you are putting an emphasis on tu, and the middle sentence your are emphasizing the piano as the instrument being played as opposed to any other instrument.
KimArizona State, University of New Orleans, University of Southern Mississippi and a certificate program from a place called Westfield State all popped up immediately when I did a google search of online classes Spanish graduate level.
