I've been in an informal adult Spanish class/conversation group for a number of years. In the past we had a teacher, but not currently. We've read a number of books together--Arrancame la vida (Angeles Mastretta), Me llamo Rigoberta Menchu, Curando era puertoriquena (Santiago), Los funerales de la Mama Grande (Garcia Marquez), Como un mensajero tuyo (Montero), Boquitas pintadas (Puig). Any suggestions--since we have no teacher to fill in background and explain when we get lost, nothing too dense in vocabulary or requiring lots of previous knowledge.
