I would like to teach students in English for a three month stint. Does anyone know of a reputable college or university that would exchange room and board for the services of an English instructor?
OR...... a school and host family ...See MoreI am a high school Spanish teacher and am looking for recommendations of companies that do short term trips for Spanish students. Either a short term trip (I have tried to reach Jumpstreet, but they are not responding -- I was interested in their weekend-long trips to the Latino sections of NY or Canada)
OR...... a school and host family exchange - because our school's families would be interested in hosting.
For your short trips try CHA in Philadephia. They have proved the most reliable in my 43 years of educatonal experience. My husband has taken many groups with them and travelled with some others that can not be recommended because they stay too far out from the city in sometimes questionable neighborhoods and not in great hotels and the guides are not as experienced.
For the possibility of bringing students to your school on a long term basis and your students going for summer, semester and year long periods, you will find AFS Intercultural Programs the most reliable at [link removed].
Does anyone know of any summer graduate classes/programs abroad for teachers? I did one in Galway, Ireland two summers ago and would love to find a similar one, but haven't had any luck in google searches. Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone could give any information on a study program here in the US. what I mean is, I have a friend in Chile who is interested in coming to the US to study English. I am trying to look for a program that offers foreigners the chance to study english here, not being a student. Any information would be beneficial. Thank you!

I'm wondering if any of you recommend good videos that touch on cultural aspects of Spain or Italy.
The videos could be about anything, from the different regions and cities, to pop culture and music.
I know there are many BORING videos out there, but am looking for those that really catch the interest of high school students. They could be from a textbook series or otherwise.
Globetrekkers Northern Spain was good (stay away from the Southern Spain version for high schoolers, unless you get it from Teacher's Discovery or the like, edited)
Don't bother with Rudy Maxx videos - pretty boring and his pronunciation of words in the target language is not good.
You can get these videos on Netflix also.

I'm thinking of going to Academia Hispano Americana this summer. Has anyone been there before? Any opinions on the place? Program? Comments on San Miguel de Allende?
