The district where I retired from and now sub for has a policy that encourages retired teachers to sub. We get a higher rate of pay to sub. There is also an incentive on top of that for retired district teachers. At day 15, the rate goes up almost 1/3 more. Tomorrow is my 15th day. The rate will go up and is retroactive to the first day. Of course, knowing my district, I will have to fight them tooth and nail to get that rate. The job has been broken up into 3 different job numbers. I was assured today that the numbers didn't matter. I have a feeling they do. Anyway, I will be in the job another 8 days, if not more. This is helping to pay for work I'm having done in my house without having to make a major dent in my savings account. I'm enjoying the job, which makes it easier to get up and get going, then drive across town. Kathy
