looking into international schools.

I am:

1) single parent-need advice re: which countries friendly, which difficult for single MOM

2) 6 year exp science/special ed

3) looking to live comfortably/save

advice?

You should apply with whatever your strength is (most experience + certification). Luckily for you, both science and SPED are relatively high needs positions (or at least seem to always have plenty of openings).

You should apply with whatever your strength is (most experience + certification). Luckily for you, both science and SPED are relatively high needs positions (or at least seem to always have plenty of openings).

Thailand/Bangkok would certainly offer many of the same benefits as China. You will just need to do a lot of research on the school. ISB and NIST are big schools but give a lot preference to teachers with IB experience (NIST in particular). After that there a bunch of 2nd and 3rd tier schools which could still be viable for you. We just met some people who lived in Bangkok when we were in Phuket for Chinese New Year and they quite liked it.
