I just wanted to know if any of you out there have been in my position and how you dealt with it. I am a third grade teacher in a new school. When I was hired I knew one other third grade teacher that was hired and so I thought that this would be great. It seems however that I am in a different section of the school and the other three teachers are in the same section so I get left out of the loop...A LOT! It is hard for me to go over there and get what I need to get done as well. I guess that is the only way I can stay connected. The thing I have a problem with is that I am constantly left out when new stuff happens. It is soooo rude! We all planned a third grade event and I was told a certain time and they moved the time a half an hour earlier without telling me! In this age of emails - is it really that much to ask? Even the teacher I knew from before doesn't give me a heads up let alone the grade level chair. I just want to know if I am being a baby and should just suck it up and g...See More

(Wouldn't you want to be helpful if someone new started? I'm sure you would.) And the principal is also to blame for separating you from the rest of the group.

Vet teacher There's just no point in getting mad - it changes nothing and can make it worse. Bring sandwiches in one day and tell them you just wanted to thank them for helping you out in this first year.
