Any suggestions welcome... writing in spanish

Hi, I just started at an elementary school, just like many of you we are preparing for the writing taks. I have a group of kids who will be taking taks in spanish, and need a lot of work on writing compositions. Anyone have any ideas of what I can do to help them improve. Currently I am using the qqped (quien, queria, pero, entoces, despues) but this does not seem to be working. Any advice would be EXTREMELY helpful.

paulaj Use writing workshop and 6 Traits. It may be too late for this year to accomplish much. I have no suggestions for short-term fixes, except have the "author" read to the class and let the class help... they need insturciton in this, but it is a great method...
