Does anyone have access to a document camera? How ae you using it in your classroom? My school has the opportunity to purchase two.

Our media specialist is worried about the Cost of replacing the bulbs. Does anyone know if they are expensive?

mia I use it everyday, just like an overhead projector. You can freexe frame, take pictures from the camera. Oh, I did this and it was great. I took pictures of all the illustrations in a great picture book. projected just the illustrations on the screen and read the book to the class.The kids loved it. ELMO lover We have one for our school. I store it in my room. I use it everyday, several times a day. I enjoy using it for math. When I take up work, I put the answer book under it. It was fantastic for teaching 2-D geometry! (translations, rotations, and reflections). I also read picture books using it... we love to zoom into smaller parts of the book especi...See More

Lynne3 I use my document camera for nearly every lesson! I could not imagine teaching without it. I use it any time I would want to project a large image - and no prep time to create overhead transparancies. Diane5 Elmo is indeed the best thing that has happened to me at school for a long time. I so agree with the previous chatter about document cameras. One thing i like to do is lay a piece of lamination over a workbook, or work paper, or someone's work....and then write on the laminate. That way I can edit, etc. and not ruin a workbook page, or write all ov...See More
