Any 4th grade TAKS writing teachers here?

Anyone have any great advice for these last 2 weeks? I have not been allowed to go to any TAKS writing workshops for 2 years, and I feel a little uninformed. I "think" we will do alright on the multiple choice part. We have worked extra hard on because they knew very little when they came in. But the essay part...well??? I don't want to burn them out, but they need to do better than the last one they did. I'm starting out tomorrow by showing examples. I just typed up an essay--one a poor example, and the same one "fixed up" I don't know about all of you, but I am a high intensity teacher and I'm about tired out! LOL! Won't be long now.

msg/4th/TX We've been working on revising and editing passages in the afternoon for about 2 weeks now. I try to get in a minilesson on anything from plurals to pronouns. I like to give them a Daily Gram every day (kind of like daily oral language) just for reviewing things from our minilessons. Parks We have created a Writing Camp where they are in tents and doing passages in morning (answering 6 questions) and writing shortly after for the rest of the day. This was a hard year because there were so many behaviors that take away the focus of some of the children, but I am convinced that we will make it through. It is wonderful to see that I am not the only one wondering what others are doing? Monday will be a chill day where we will play games from KAMICO..
