Our school had to block You Tube because of the upper grade students looking at innappropriate videos. We are a Catholic school and they had downloaded music videos with sex, violence, and bad words.
I just noticed...you don't have to go into share, just putthe short URL that you used in the Embed URL space and give it a name...this couldn't be easier :o)
On 6/17/11, The embed code is found in the Share space. wrote: > On 6/17/11, wig wrote: >> I could not find the embedding code. But my students get >> the biggest kick over this video. >> >> [link removed]"
I am looking for space to upload student videos, preferable with a teacher account that would allow me to manage the student videos. Does anybody know of a site that I should investigate?
If you are not familiar with Brainpopjr.com or brainpop.com they are well worth checking out. As a first grade teacher, I had a subscription to junior and we used the videos on almost a daily basis. They support the curriculum so well. I plan on subscribing again as a third grade teacher. They also have a daily "free" video of the day.
Brainpop is great!! Did you know they even have an ESOL version? I was just introduced to that option and plan on considering it for this next year. The kids love brainpop and I use it as an intro to a new lesson or a review for an upcoming quiz or test.
It's a great FREE website (though there are subscriptions, you don't really need it) and it's by Disney but there is no real Disney type characters.
A teacher can register a class or kids can register at home, but they need a parent email to do that. Kids create an avatar and can buy special effects for their creations through getting stars from others.
I thought this might fit in with this chatboard because kids can create movies on this website, along with other types of pictures and stories.
The website was set up to help kids develop creativity with media.
My kids loved it this year. I've kept my classroom registered for the summer so the kids are still sending in their stories and movies.
