I would like to use Moodle to set up a class. I am wondering where I can find a free tutorial that will walk me through the initial set up process to install the software, set a class up on my computer, then publish it online.

I'm sorry, I just had to respond. When I googled by maiden name, I was so surprized to see that there is another person with the same name as me. It was always so rare, not only my first name, but for you to have the last. Is this your married name or your maiden. I think it's kind of cool. Maybe we're related.
I made an image in Word (a Smart Shape flow chart), and saved it as an image to add to my website.
The image has a white background. I erased the white background using my Corel Paint Shop application, but when I exported the image as a .jpg, it completely jacked up the image! The image lost all color and became a strange black and white image.
It may be the image size. Paint Shop does buggy things with the image size. You will set it, but it reamains large. Also, instead of exporting try to 'Save As' and see what happens.
What browser are you using? IE will blow-up with jpg's sometimes. We often convert to gif or tif to make IE happy...I can't remember which.
I can't seem to set the download size of any of my Dreamweaver pages. I want to set them to one of the pre-set sizes (800 x 600) but the list of options in the pop-up menu are grayed out. How can I activate them?
The link below has 3 Macromedia tutorials for DW MX. It is pretty close to DW 8 and will work. The links themselves are long in order to give the browser a good idea of the subject. Here is the title of DW tutorial II: 'Web Design and Development Process Production Storyboard Using Flash and Video in a Website Create Image Maps Create Rollover Images Create pop-up Menus"
That is one link! Hah.
They are in PDF form. Feel free to bookmark this page and use what you want. I will be adding some pretty hot Photoshop Tutorials this winter.
"Planning Your Web Site" links to some really good Graphic Design pages that the author ask me to post on my site. It is simple, but very valuable for the noob.
Hi! I asked a question at Best Buy about Microsoft Frontpage 2003. I asked if it was compatible to Frontpage 2007? I was told "No". I'm really just getting started and I was assigned the position of web editor for my school. They use Front Page 2003....Is there a web editor that I can use that is compatible with Frontpage 2003 that is still on the market? Thanks, Nancy

MS has done us all a favor and pulled FP off of the shelves. I cringe everday I have to go between FP and Dreamweaver to 'publish' pages...FP can't do a simple FTP upload.
The replacement is Microsoft Expresson Web. This is not FP in a different skin, but a completely different animal. You can get an upgrade from FP for $99. The interface is different from FP--it is very much like the RAD of the MS Visual Suites, and playing with the various attributes is like playing with objects in OO programming.
MS is trying to play the compliancy game with this one, and if they pull it off then they will be up there with Dreamweaver. MS has a tough road ahead, but at least they are building a respectible development environment for the web. One thing MEW will do that DW can't, is work almost seamlessly with MS Visual .Net apps.
The folks at the store were correct, there is nothing compatible with FP 2003.
The link below will take you to MS where you can download a demo.
Help, So I was pretty much scammed out of my website. I have been with Avid hosting for over a year and now they are gone and so is my website. I am so computer illiterate . Can anyone help me out on how to get my website up and going? I already paid for my domain through them. Do I need to go and submit a new site?? I have all my business cards with my website on them and now have no website to go to. Help!!! I don't know wwhat to do. Heather
The people you want to contact are at enom.com. Enom is the company that Avid actually bought the domain names through. You basically have to show them documentation that the name is actually yours. This could be bills, emails, etc - just something that shows YOU bought the domain.
HOPEFULLY you have your web 'stuff' somewhere safe, like your own computer or your web designer or whatever. If not you're probably SOL.
From what I am reading here and from what I can glean from their web site, Enom.com evidently isn't being very proactive in assisting customers like yourself who were (or may have been) scammed by one of enom's original domain resellers. That is why I would go out and get a new registrar ASAP, one whose primary business is being a registrar and/or a host, NOT whose primary business is (or appears to be) reselling domains to other companies. "Once burned is twice warned" as the old adage says.

We want information, and then we're gone. If the site's too slow or busy, or wastes our time with a lot of cheesy popups, we're gone even faster. Nobody really cares who made the site.
Sounds like there's a web designer out there who's just a little too full of himself.

If you want to add it on the main menu as a link, go to Menu/Main Menu/New/Link URL and fill in the information.
If you want it as a content item, go to Content/All Content/Click new and add a link to it.

Server Intellect is our web hosting company and we have been extremely happy with them. Server Intellect is one of the first Windows Web Hosts and Microsoft Gold Certified Partners to offer Windows Server 2008 'Longhorn' on all Dedicated Servers, with the most substantial upgrade since Windows 2000. The upgrades have been very beneficial to our business.
