I am looking for a lesson plan for middle school students that involves using Excel. I want the students to chart how using Facebook and adding "friends" grows exponentially. Does anyone have any ideas or lesson plans along these lines? Thanks
Hi, I want to add a song to my notebook lesson about money. I have the song in itunes and want to import it so that I can push and icon and have that song begin to play.
make sure the itune song is saved as an mp3. any other way, and it will have to be a link, and it sounds like you do not want that (the player would open up to play the song). itunes has the capability to convert to an mp3 so that is your first step. Next, put your icon where you want it on your page. then open the file that has your mp3 and drag it right onto the icon. it will most likely now be a little megaphone to show it has music. You can leave it like this, but here is what I do: right click the icon and click on sound. change the radio button to say object so the megaphone is hidden. the only thing here, is next time you use this, you have to remember there is music when you click the icon, where leaving the megaphone helps you remember--your choice. I hope this makes sense, but let me know if not.
I have a PC attached to smart board, but am going to connect MACBOOK to it. another teacher tried it and found problems. does anyone have problems with mac attached? any suggestions - she had connected it but didn't work

It's probably too late at this point, but email me if you are still having problems. [email removed]
Marsha, Did you recalibrate your pen? You probably know this but just in case someone else is reading this and doesn't know.... Hover your pen above the flame in the upper left corner of the board.(don't touch the screen ..just hover) Some words will appear in the middle of the screen that says something like tap the screen. Then in various positions around the screen it will have you tap the screen so that the pen will be better matched to your tapping. Hope that helps.

My administration has asked me if I would like to have a Promethean Board in my classroom. I teach Drafting and CAD. Does anyone have any idea on how I could use this to my advantage? Are the students able to access this tool?
Quoting from PrometheanPlanet.com: "ActivInspire is a cross-platform, single software solution, combining the functionality of award-winning ActivPrimary and ActivStudio while seamlessly integrating ActiVote and ActivExpression." ActivPrimary and ActivStudio are still available as separate software downloads. There are many more differences between these programs than just the look and tool placement.
I started using ActivStudio long before ActivInspire was introduced. Since both ActivStudio and ActivPrimary are still available and supported, I stand by my statements.

The statement I take issue with is that ActivPrimary is "simpler". It is not. Flipcharts are created in exactly the same way, have the same functionality, and integreate with Promethean's LRS whether you're using the old ActivStudio, ActivPrimary, or Inspire Studio or Inspire Primary.
Perhaps you mean Primary is "simpler" for the students to interact with because of tool placement, but the design of flipcharts by teachers is the same with either one.

Hi. I just got an Activboard 2 but setup instructions to put together and on the wall are so vague it is unbelievable. Do I have to get it setup professionally?
