Online Journals

Has anyone used an online journal with their class? I am wanting some type of journal that the student can type responses to my questions. I would also like to view the online journal fairly easy.

Would a blog be best or is there something out there that is better?

Got a Mimeo this spring...need ideas

I got a Mimeo system (a type of interactive whiteboard) this spring with a grant along with an LCD projector. It has completely replaced my overhead projector and I'll never have to check out a TV/DVD from the library again. But I KNOW it can do more than this.

Any ideas?

Smartboard software question

I got my smartboard and old laptop in Feb. Used it through end of April. Laptop started failing. I have miss placed the software to set up my smartboard. Any ideas what to do? I have another computer ready but software not loaded. P-third grade teacher

gayle/3 Do you have a computer tech at your school or district? That's who loads ours.

You can download Notebook from the Smart website, but you will need an activation code to make it active and not a free trial. I got that from my computer tech also.

New to Smartbaords

I am getting one installed within the next few weeks and have been looking around a lot for ideas and lessons. I was wondering if you can use the Smartbaord as a regular white board using dry erase markers with the smartbaord turned off and then save that information on the white board? Just playing around with ideas. Lill

LizzieMae If you already have 2 dry erase boards in your lab, you may want to look into a mimio. We purchased one for each grade level this year because we already have dry erase boards and we pass it from classroom to classroom. They don't have as much content as SMART, but we purchased a subscription to StarrMatica for our upper elementary so that has help...See More
