Any other suggestions gla...See MoreI have saved some photos from an online website into a word document. Now I want to convert them to photo images to use in other ways.
How do I do that?
I've tried importing it into my photo imaging software. No go. I tried saving the document as a jpeg and jpg file, and a tif file. Still no go.
Any other suggestions gladly appreciated.
I've included my email for you to respond directly to me.
Thanks in advance. This board has helped me several times before.
I think you are asking about how to extract the photos from the word document? I think this should work:
1. Select each picture you want 2. Press ctrl C (Copy) 3. Open up MS Power point 4. On a blank slide Press ctrl V (Paste) 5. You should see your picture. Right click the picture and then click on "save picture as" 6. Save picture onto your hard drive.
One note - The clarity of the picture may be reduced due to the way Word embeds pictures into its file.
Hope this works for you.

I've had one for a year. I love it. Best thing that ever happened to me. My suggestion is to play as much as possible before class starts. Learn to customize the toolbar, gallery, and page preferences to suit your subject. The more seamless you are in your presentation, the greater the appeal to your students. I received mine the day school started, so I had to learn on the fly. That was rough at first, because once the kids see you fumble around with the menus, they lose interest. When you've learned how to "play it like a musical instrument" you'll have a ball with it. It will change your style of teaching and your lesson plans, so be prepared to invest a bit more time in the beginning. Once you see all of the endless possibilities, your imagination will take over. Some prior tech savvy is very helpful as well, but not a prerequisite. After one year, I'm just now getting the hang of it. Also, I have the interwrite bluetooth board. Very nice addition. If possible get yourself a document projector to go with your whiteboard. This allows me to toggle between the Interwrite board and any document I have under the camera. I can set up my interwrite board on my computer while at the same time projecting notes or text with the camera. Being able to switch between both really allows me the ultimate in flexibility. Also, make sure the computer you're using for the IWB is located at the front of your room near the board. Otherwise, you'll be running back and forth to your desk when the need arises (as it will). Hope this is helpful.
Hi, I received a Mimio board and projector this summer, and I need help also. I, too, would like to do whatever I can ahead of time. Can I scan the worksheets at home and email them to my school address? My school scanner needs to go in the garbage! Also, could you suggest a website for French teachers that utilizes Mimioes in the classroom? Thanks, Brigitte
as for French sites, I have...See MoreI'm not sure what a mimio does...so I'm no help there, but yes, you can scan at home and send to school... or put on a USB pen...makes no difference.
Have you tried making a search for interactive whiteboard lessons? tons and tons and tons of website will pop up... some good ones, some not so good ones.
as for French sites, I haven't found too many great ones... (I'm a French teacher as well)... I make my own lessons, or I translate lessons that I really like (with permission from the original person).
Here are a couple french sites I had in my bookmarks... it would help if I knew the grade ...

In the smartboard software, notebook, I was able to attach/insert all documents, videos, etc that went along with a lesson into the notebook software. It was handy.
Can I do something similar with the flipchart software? How do you organize your lessons within flipchart?

Has anyone used a SMARTBoard to do any teaching with the traits? If so how did you use it?
I have used mine to teach organization by having the students put a story in order, and another where they remove parts of a story that don't belong with it. I also used it to teach voice and used the emoticons and had them tell how each one was feeling based on the expression on their face.
If interested, I started a Yahoo group to share SMART Board tips and resources. I have never had a yahoo group before, but I have set it up with approved messages in an attemppt to block SPAM which is bad on the other SMART Board groups.
If interested, the group is: smart_board_resources

I have a brand new whiteboard and a few ideas of how to use it. I've googled for lesson plans but few seem to be for reading or English classes. I'd love to hear how others are using their boards for these classes. Thanks.
I type or copy and paste grammar lessons onto my CD and insert for easy instruction without killing a lot of trees. I have also went to the discovery store, and purchased Idiom Baseball, Grammar Baseball, Elements of Fiction game, and Elements of Short Stories. These are about $25 bucks each but I can use them for all my classes as a review, and copy them to my computer for future years use. I also purchased a template from EBAY which allows me to type in my literary terms, spelling words, questions etc for all types of games such as "Who wantt to be a Millionaire, Concentration, etc. There are also tons of games on the net if you type in "Smart Board Interactive Games" Hope this is of help. By the way, I teach 6th grade language arts and the kids love interactive reviews.

East End Long IslanderWe use it to start the day's instructions ... then to do vocabulary together ... then to post questions the students have to write answers for ... it can be used for various graphic organizers to use with them as samples....
