Hi Cindy, I think interaction is key. I also feel some students feel uncomfortable being up front. I use new dual board technology and Interwrite Mobi where a child is able to interact from their seat. If the technology is used correctly and if your fortunate enough you would also have student response systems such as CPS.
Contact Boces they are familiar with Title I IDEA grants. This is the grant you would be targeting but your district has likely already done so through the Federal Stimulus.
casgaI assume you are referring to a new Promethean technology where two people can write on the board at the same time? I have not seen it in action, nor know of anyone who has it yet. Keep us informed as to what you find out!

There is not much you can do about space planning without ceiling mount. However, if you have collaborative multi function systems such as Interwrite Mobi student never leave their seat. Nine portable handheld boards can be used within the class. These work with any whiteboards.

Oh well.
Does anyone have any suggestions for Powerpoint games I could create or templates that are out there. I've used Jeopardy and things like that, but I am looking for something new. Thanks.
My high school /middle school students love our version of Hollywood squares. Just Google "Powerpoint games for teachers" and you'll find a wealth of ideas. I am a fourth grade teacher. This summer our school is installing SMART Boards in the third and fourth grades. I am expected to integrate this technology into my teaching in the fall. I have only used a laptop for email and for searching in google. Any suggestions for a new user would be great! Thanks
On 8/10/09, nancy wrot...See MoreThere's a lot of other components that would be nice to have, but I don't think there's anything else you NEED. I'm not sure how much a whiteboard costs--I think around $2000? The company that helps our school is called AVI-SPL. The company is based in Tampa, Florida (my school's on the other coast in Martin County).

I teach third grade and am looking for great sites to use on the SMART Board when I teach a unit on urban, rural, and suburban communities. I'd welcome your suggestions. Thanks!
