Senteo Clickers with a Smartboard

Hi,

I have borrowed a set of Senteo Clickers from our professional library to use with my Smartboard for a week. What are some ways that you have used them?

How do I create my own files to use with them?

Teri I'm not sure of the exact cost, but I'm guessing around $2000. If you're going to spend the money, I'd purchase the cps clickers from estruction. They're much more versatile than the Senteos and have a much, much wider variety of reports for the teacher.

With the Senteos, you have to spend the time to type in each question and the question sets are limited to 40 questions. With the CPS clickers, you can hand the students the questions on paper and just have to type in the answers. And there are no limits to the number of questions.

With Senteo there are a couple of reports, and for the individual student reports, you have to export to Excel. The CPS system has about 20-30 different reports with no need to export.

A science teacher at my high school used the CPS clickers for her semester exam. She handed out the clickers and the questions. The students answered at their own pace. The teacher had a constant stream of information on her computer screen with each student's answers, and as the students returned their clickers, she told them their exam grade--instantly! The students loved it and so did she--no grading!

pw We received a quote from a SMART vendor on the Senteo Clickers last school year and they were $1,995.

Eamon I'd suggest looking at activexpression by Promethean. They offer a variety of response types including text! The kids love this as they are so used to it! They can answer any question you ask, whcih takes it out of the test zone and makes it a tool for use anytime, anywhere - much better value for money!

Moyer How much for the ActiveExpression? Does it integrate seamlessly with ExamView? Do you have to use the Promethean software or can you use it with other software apps?
