Biography
I'm currently active duty as a Chief Petty Officer Cryptologic Technician (Interpretive), Mandarin Chinese Linguist in the US Navy. I retire in 2021 and my goal is to teach High School at a DODEA school overseas. I have a Doctorate in Business Administration (International Business), Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in Liberal Studies, and an Associate's Degree in Applied Electronics. I am a certified NJROTC instructor. I hope to teach NJROTC, but I understand that teachers at DODEA schools need to be flexible. I also qualify to teach Electronics Technology as a non-certified vocational instructor. After a year of teaching High School and passing the PRAXIS II, I will also be qualified to teach Business and Computer Science. I do not currently possess a teaching certification, and am working on alternative pathways. I wholeheartedly welcome any advice for a prospective DODEA teacher or NJROTC instructor... As an interesting side note, I love languages. I have achieved qualifying scores on nine Defense Language Proficiency Tests, including Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Swahili, German, Indonesian, Dutch, Portuguese, and French-- all self taught except Spanish. My German is fluent from living, studying, and working in Austria.
