HI, I would love to organize this, if you want to participate email me direct and we can get this going. If you are already participating in one please email me so I can be included. Happy New Year
I'm from Canada and I teach a grade 2 class. I would love to do an exchange. We would like to hear where students are from and would love it if they could recommend one book from your classroom for us to enjoy in our classroom. Our 100th day is after Valentine's Day. Please contact me. Thanks.

Our 4 first grades rotate into each of our classroom. For my activity we start with a poem about 100 days of school. How can we count to 100? We count by 1s, 5s,10, and 25s. We talk about 100 cents in $1.00. There are 4 quarters in a dollar, or four 25s. I have bought 4 25 piece puzzles. Actually they had 24 pieces, but we counted the top of the box to make the whole picture as one more. I divided the class into groups and they rotated around completing each puzzle that the group could do in the time frame. It was very interesting to watch the many didn't ways the puzzle was solved. Also watching other students other than my own was fun too.
Any upper grade teachers have special activities? I've moved from 2nd to 5th this year and am not sure if I should celebrate it or not.+++++++++++++++++++++
Our whole school K-8 celebrates 100th day. Various activities that upper grades like: Students walk an estimated distance of 100 feet and then are told where the real distance is. Students cut a piece of string an estimated 100 inches, and then compare to the correct length string. Students bounce a ball 100 times, stand on one foot 100 seconds, do 100 jumping jacks. Student write a composition on what life will be like 100 years from now. Students draw a picture of themselves as 100 years old. Students write 100 adjectives (or any part of speech).
There are tons of ideas on the internet, but I lost all my bookmarks, so I can't help you there.

We read the "Little House in the Big Woods" and on the 100th day of school we have a 100th day.
The students and teachers dress in costume, we have 4 different third grade classes, and each teacher does something related to 100 years ago. I often cook corn bread in an electric skillet and the children make butter. I know there were no electric skillets, but the point is that the students make the corn bread and eat it with their butter.
One teacher does a quilt activity. The others do something else. It is lots of fun for all. The children rotate between teachers and do all of the activities.
Wowsa, wowsa! What a grand idea! I liked how you tied it to 100 years ago which is a great learning experience for upper elementary kids who are beginning to understand a sense of history. How did it go?

Hello Everyone, I am a grade one teacher in Torbay, Newfoundland, Canada and we are trying to collect 100 emails. Please email us and tell us what it is like where you live. We will email you back if you want or we can send a postcard from where we live. WE look forward to hearing from you. THank you, Ms. Legge's Grade One Class.
We are a grade 5 and 6 class from Stavely, AB Canada. Stavely is a rural farming community located one hour south of Calgary. Stavely is known to be the location of the World's First Indoor Rodeo. If you look east from Stavely it is flat prairie. If you look to the west you see the Porcupine Hills. If you look even further west past the Porcupine Hills you can see the picturesque Canadian Rocky Mountains. In our school there are 10 grade one students. We have 75 students in our K-6 school. We are glad that we could help you celebrate 100 Day. We are celebrating on Feb. 18th.

Writing to you from sunny Cape Town, this is situated at the very bottom of the continent of Africa in South Africa!!! It is beautiful here with mountains to the one side and a beach on the other. Where i live the houses are nestled between the two! You wont believe it but the one mountain is called Table Mountain because it looks so much like a table as it is flat on the top!! Our national flower is the Protea which is a beautiful purple colour (quite an unusual looking flower!) I havent started teaching yet, i am still studying so wish me luck! I hope you get all 100 e-mails! - Zoe'

This year I would like to do something a little different for 100 day. I'm thinking of something involving a "moral lesson", such as 100 good deeds or collecting 100 things for charity, etc. Any ideas

How about 100 Valentine's Day Cards for our deployed Troops. If interested, please email me for details.
I am the president of our middle school student council and we organized a coat drive, we got our local walmart to donate bags of the mini size candy bars and for every coat that was brought in the kids recieved a candy bar. Then we donated the coats to the local salvation army we raised over 230 coats.
We will soon be celebrating our 100th day of school. Our school will be collecting 100 children's books to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. Representative from RDMH and our local McDonalds will be on hand at our assembly to accept the books. Our local McDonalds will give every child that donates a book a coupon for a free Happy Meal. Needless, to say the students are very excited.

I would love to start something like that at my school in SC. Our 100th day is Jan. 22! I hope that you reach your goal!

This is something that I would definetly like to look into for next year. It is a great way to encourage children to help others in the community. We all know how much children love happy meals. They are almost willing to do anything to receive a free happy meal. Thanks a lot!!
Our 100th day of school is January 27th. I would like for my class to recieve 100 e-mails by that time. I realize this is very short notice but I would really appreciate your help. I teach kindergarten in Texas and my class is not exposed to very much I really would like for them to become more aware of the fact that their are other kids just like them. If you would like to send us an email, please let us know a little about your class and where your live. It doesn't have to be long. I would be glad to do the same for you. Please e-mail me at [email removed]

Hi, My name is Renee Jeffcoat and I am a 5K teacher in Bamberg, South Carolina. I think this is a great way to integrate technology into your curriculum. We will be celebrating our 100th day on January 22nd. We have a lot of fun things planned. Some examples: 100 snacks (chex mix, a 100 placemat, 100 day game with a die and a grid, journal writing prompt- What would you do with 100 dollars? The list goes on! I have 16 students who are studying about penguins right now! I can't wait for us to find Texas tomorrow on our globe! Good luck with the 100 e-mails!

Hi! Here are a few ideas that have been fun in the past. Give the children a tootsie rol taffy and have them lick 100 times...see who has the smallest, biggest...watch how they lick!!!We also have our lower school form the number 100 with their bodies and take a picture from the roof...we had them outside in the yard to 100 100 things like...10 jumping jacks, 10 marching in place, We have gotten dressed as 100 year old teachers ( that was a blast!) and had them write 100 different kinds of food, snacks, et. Prior to the big day, we sent home a large 100 dollar bill and asked them to complete the front. They brought it backto school and colored it. After cutting it out, they glued it into their writing journal and wrote a story about suddenly one day they found 100.00 on the ground..what would they do with it...I feel like I have rambled on..if you would like other ideas, please let me know. I am looking for some new ones this year too. Thanks

I like to have the children bring in 100 things. ( it can be anything like q-tips, pennies, cereal, cotton balls, etc.) You can make graphs with these items. It is a great reinforcment activity for tens and ones.

Hi, Our day 100 is Jan. 22, 2003. We will start our day with a breakfast where we eat 100 pieces of cereal that the children have brought from home. We compare how it looks according to the size of the cereal. Next, we do math problems that all equal 100. Some of the other things we do are as follows: a 100 step walk that we have predicted earlier about where we will land; making a trail mix called "derdnuh" which is hundred spelled backward, the mix has 10 different items, 10 of each; we have a group of bagged items that contain more or less than 100, the children number their paper for the number of bags, guess greater or less than 100, then count the bag that stops at their seat, then we check answers; write 100 words; watch a 100 minute movie (hard to find); measure 100 inches; read 100 sentences; make words from the letters in the words "one hundred"; and there are many more. This is just a sampling. I also wear a shirt that I have sewn 100 buttons on in the shape of the number 100. Hope this is helpful.
Hi
What is the 100th day email exchange?
