I realize that many school's have had their 100th day of school, but here is a project on Accu-cut's web page that you may like to use next year. I work part time for Accu-cut and when submitting this project to them, I didn't make it very clear which end was up! The grid should actually be turned clock-wise one quarter of a turn.

Barb,
What a great idea! I've had my K's write their name over and over in the boxes, but not color the letters. I bet they would turn out neat.
Maybe I'll try it - even though our 100th day was in Feb.
I know many of you have had your 100th Day of school already. I would really appreciate it if you could post your most successful projects as I am looking for some ideas for this Friday. Thank you very much! Alta Rose
I would like to start a 100th day exchange. I am the educational coordinator at my school. Our first day of school is September 4th. I am looking for other schools to join us. Anyone interested please e-mail me
I would like to hear more about your ideas for an exchange. What grades? what city? the whole school? Please tell me more.

Ask every class/grade to collect 100 cans of food to be given to local food bank or homeless shelter, Collect cans of dog & cat food (bags too) collected for "Love Gone A- Stray" donated to local Humane Society. ask each student to bring in one paperback book in English/Spanish to be donated to local Ronald McDonald House, invite Ronald to visit on the 100th day of school to pick up books, ask local representatives from other organizations to come pick up their goods and invite tv & newspapers to be present, every student should be working on a collection of 100 items to be displayed in library or cafeteria, award ribbons to most creative, biggest, smallest and most unusual, have 8th graders write and give speech of 100 words in length, teachers & students may dress up as if they were 100 yrs. old., have each class do a book answering the question< "If I told you once I told you a hundred times ...." fill in what their parents always say, make a bulletin board of 100 thankful hearts and have 100 students say what they are thnakful for, I could go on & on because I love this celebration. You can purchase coloring books for this day, I have a cassette tape with ideas, and i have a list of books with 100 in the title. WE had plywood numbers of 100 placed on our entrance doors and the children had to come into school through the 00's.
I would like to do a postcard exchange but have never participated in one. How do I start, and what helpful hints can you give me. I teach the 4 year old class in a church preschool in Greenville, South Carolina. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

On this same site is listed postcard project, click on it and there is all kinds of people doing postcard exchanges. I have decided to do one for the summer time for all the preschool/daycares, if you are interested in getting on my list for summer 2003, let me know.
Last year in my SPED 4/5 class we did "Walking Throught The Hundred Days" and had feet walking around our room. Each day a child would write something that we did that day. It was colorful and the kids loved it. This year I have many of the same kids and don't want to repeat it. Does anyone have any different ideas that aren't too babyish for them. TIA for your help and ideas. Shelly
We are going to be celebrating the 100 day idea for the first time in the history of our school. I would love to receive 100 emails from classes from around the world. Please, send me an email and tell me about your class. I will print out the email and place a flag on our world map to show the class where it came from! I will also respond to any and all emails that I receive! Thanks!
I think the e-mails are a wonderful idea. I will send you one from Long Island, New York. Would you mind if I did the same thing. When and where do you want me to send the e-mail to your class? Georgeann/NY/Sped
You can count on getting an email from my class in NJ...It would be great if it was organized and had 100 people to send each other e mails. If everyone posting a request on to your list would copy and send one to each other that would be great. How do you suppose this can work? I've never done it before.
i Everyone: I just read the 100th Day information and I am very glad that I did. I ususally am trying to do something at the very last moment. Our 100th day usually falls in February which is such a busy month. We have President's Day, Valentine's Day, winter break and, I usually have testing for my IEP meetings in March. So, what a great idea to start the very first day of school. Where has my brain been! I would like to ask everyone who reads this email if you could send me an e-mail telling my class about your school or where you live. I would like to receive 100 of them by Day 100. I will post them in my room for the children to read and reread. Please don't hesitate, you can start now. If you would like an e-mail from us, we will send one to you, even if it isn't for Day 100. I think it would be fun just for the children to receive their own class mail. Sincerely, Mrs. Georgeann O'Connell Please send e-mails to my other address: [email removed]

Hi, I am a Kindergarten teacher in Lake Charles Louisiana. I teach at Fairview Elem. I would like for my class to receive and send 100 e-mails by our 100th day of school. We will post on our wall of 100. Not only will we use our technology, but this will help us with our Social Living/Social Studies. Hoping to hear from everyone. Jennifer Bellow Fairview Elem Calcasieu Parish Lake Charles LA.

Hi, I teach second grade in Villa Rica, Georgia. Good luck on your 100 email project. Our favorite 100 day project is to hide 100 numbered Hershey kisses. When we find all of them, we get to eat them. Have fun. Mrs. Tullis
