I am looking for any pictures or ideas for student engagement while I pull a small group during UA time. I would like to see a possible schedule or board the students look to see where they go.
Hi Kristen, This website has pictures of the centers during UA time. Most of the centers are aimed at kindergarten and first grade students. A must do and may do chart is set up.

I found a Kindergarten level Mountain Math package in the classroom I moved into, but no instructions for questions/responses. The Mountain Math website indicated that there were no response sheets, only questions on the instruction sheet. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the kindergarten instruction sheet without paying for an whole new kit? Thank you for your help!
Hi! I just started a new website in November. It has lots of free printables geared towards children who are PreK through 2nd grade. I have gotten a lot of feedback from teachers who use my magnet pages in their centers as well as other activities on site. You can check it out at [link removed]
I have a class of 26 students who would like to correspond with other students from around the world. I am looking for a class of 26 who could correspond in English.

I am starting 2 new units and need to create 5 rotating centers for the new topics: magnets (2nd grade) and communities (1st grade)... I thought I could draw on your expertise for some creative approaches....
my first ideas 1) For magnets: put clipart of different objects (screws, doll, sneakers, scissors, refrigerator) on index cards.... then i laminated them and attached a paper clip to the underside of the cards that were magnetic.... i'm going to lay the cards with the paperclip side down in a cookie sheet or something flat like that and then put a magnetic wand with it.... the kids have to predict which cards will stick to the magnetic wand and then test them and record their data... ----
2) For communities: (1st gr): I found community helpers cards that they can play concentration with or a matching game.... one has a picture of a policeman and the corresponding card says "I keep your town safe." , etc.
3) a basic mapping activity with instructions to get from place to place

To work on sequencing and using word clues, I cut apart comic strips that are longer than 3 frames long. The Sunday newspaper is usually the best resource for this. I store them in individual baggies (one baggie per complete strip story). I number the back of each frame for self-checking. The kids LOVE this and I LOVE the conversation that goes on between partners while trying to solve the order. They literally have to think out loud.
Hello, I am a student at Hardin Simmons and I am majoring in Elementary Educaiton. I am doing a project on centers and was wondering if anyone has any creative ideas. I am the last one to present and it seems like all my ideas have been taken. Thanks
