The countdown for Peace Day - 21 September has begun and we are here to help you to encourage your students to make their Peace Day commitments.

Peace Day was established in 2001 as a UN recognised day of global ceasefire and non-violence. We now aspire to institutionalise 21 September so that it becomes self sustaining. However, we can’t do this alone, we need you and your students help!

There are THREE STEPS to making a commitment: • Decide what you will do on 21September • Log your commitment at [link removed]!

We know that students thrive (learn best?) with engaging and interesting activities and for that reason we think the ‘Three Steps To Peace One Day’ can be incorporated into a lesson plan. Ideas can be discussed in groups or individuals can come up with their own pledge to the cause. These ideas and commitments can then be shared with the rest of the class or even the whole school.
