Look through the threads on this chatboard for posts containing projects, links to projects and resources. I've provided a link to Earth Day and other resources.
I am trying to locate an activity that I have used before to show, using an apple, how much of the Earth's actual surface can be used for man's purpose. The activity shows parts of the apple being cut away because it cannot be used by man due to various reasons (it is a desert or frozen area, or salt water, etc...) At the end of the activity you are left with a small section of the skin of the apple which shows actually how much of the earth man really has to utilize (therefore leading to a lesson on why we really need to protect the Earth!!!) If anyone know of this activity and knows exactly how to do it please e mail me so that I can get a copy of it. THANKS
I am looking for that same lesson and I can't find it! If anyone has it, *please* send it to me! Thanks!

On April 22, my son will have to go to school dressed in "Earth Day" attire. I would like that someone suggest me which can be an appropiate attire. Thank you.

How about dressing your child in all natural fibers, 100% cotton clothing, maybe a white t-shirt that you and your child decorate with fabric paints(a picture of the earth) or a natural water scene( ocean), you could even add three-d fish or other sea creatures and jeans. Add a decorated hat with small animals for the final touch.
Show your classes how an eco-business that creates a "circle of benefit" for all involved is working right this very minute in your local communities. Please contact me if you are interested in participating yourself or wish to educate your students on the value of the Amazon Rainforests.
I received the following message from a federal listserve to which I subscribe. There are lots of resources here that may help as you prepare for Earth Day. Be sure to see the kids' section.
Today, the federal government launched EarthDay.gov, a Web site which provides Americans a first-ever comprehensive guide to environmental service opportunities and Earth Day events sponsored by the federal government.
I had heard about a lesson that involved students in tossing an inflatable globe to each other to discover that Earth contains more water than land and was wondering if anyone had any information about it? Thanks!
IRC offers a great fundraiser for schools which requires no investment - 100% profit! They will pay cash for empty inkjet and toner cartridges that they will then recycle, which will save unnecessary dumping in our landfills. Their website lists all of the cartridge that qualify and they pay for the shipping! Simply set up a collection point in your school and collect from parents or local businesses. They will send you a prepaid postage label to return them. This is great for students as they do not need to handle money or go door to door...which is not safe!
I am looking for that same lesson and I can't find it! If
anyone has it, *please* send it to me! Thanks!
