I am looking for a simple Earth Day activity that I can do with 1st and 2nd graders that will incorporate higher order thinking skills and that I can post on a colorful bulletin board. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Does anyone have any ideas for Arbor Day skits, peoms, songs, story telling? We are having a Arbor Day celebration at our school and I am trying to come up with the program.
Hi, I am a junior at Springfield Township Highschool (Montco.) in Pennsylvania. I am part of the Environmental Club at my school and for earth day we were going to the Middle School and Elementry Schools to help raise awareness about recycaling and such, we were tryign to find more interesting and appealing games and things we could do with the kids to make it more interesting then just talking and making things out of recycled paper.. so if anyone had any ideas please post or email me.. thanks!

e offer a very effective fundraiser with 100% profit and NO investment except the effort put into collecting used cell phones and empty printer cartridges from parents and local businesses. This is a very safe alternative to selling fundraisers...there is NO door to door selling and no cash handling. And we will provide all of the tools needed! We also pay shipping when they send us 20 or more cell phones, 20 or more inkjets, or 6 or more toner cartridges. We also work with the Ronald McDonald House Charities, YSUSA.com, the Humane Society and Earth Force.
Please call us if you have any questions about our program or visit us online!
Thanks!

For middle school through adult readers, The Dynamic Great Lakes is a book that shows how people have been successful in making good changes for the environment. This book has been critically acclaimed and updated with new information about the Great Lakes.
The Dynamic Great Lakes website is also used by schools looking for Great Lakes information.

Your company is sooo Brand New and only a few days late and several marketing pitches too old!
Your company is simply trying to capitalize on the already existing and well-establish recycling for profit programs. Schools and PTO's have a most difficult time, already trying to find worthy fundraisers. We are all aware of the most current and worthy recycling fundraisers for empty cartridges and used cell phones, like:

So, before you try and manipulate any of us into your BringItOn...thing, think twice - we're not interested! Mike
Mike, you are wrong about this company. I have worked with them for several years now and have been very satisfied with them. They have been around for quite some time and our organization has raised over $4000 dollars in the past 3 years working with them. Some of the companies that you have listed are very new and do not pay much or don't pay cash. So please do your research before you jump to any conclusions. For those of you interested in a good program do your research as well.

Hi,
My High School has been working with a company in California called eCycle Group. Their website is ecyclegroup.com. I went through their website to start recycling with them and I have found them to be a good company to recycle with. Hope this helps.

I found The following information rather useful in helping us make a desicion about who to recycle and fund-raise with. If only someone could provide me with some contact information on the following companies: Printpal Recycling; Cartridge for kids and Highland kids. If anything, I really would like PrintPal Recycling contact info.
"I am a Junior High school teeacher and also a parent on our fund-raising board. We have been doing this ink recycling fundraiser for 4 years and we raised a little over $5,000.00 for some of our clubs and functions. We are using a couple different companies because of the pricing. Here is my list of companies we'd tried, how long we been with them, how much money we raised and the long and short payment turn-around time. 1. Printpal Recycling, 10 months doing the program (still with them), raised $3,845.65

The 3rd company I'm intersted in is "Kartridge for Kids" not "Cartridge for kids" Thanks for any help
Hi..I don't usually post on this chatboard, but I thought someone here could help.
I'm planning a month-long (or more) rain forest unit for my first grade class. I like to plan thematically, building around good literature, and tying math and science together. I really enjoy hands-on students activities, and discussions. I'm trying to gather good, solid hands-on experiences for my kids related to the rainforest, ecology, food chains/webs. Any suggestions?-- please post. You don't have to post an enitre lesson- just the "gist" of it...I'll get it :-) Thanks for any help with my "brainstorming"- looking forward to a ver meaningful unit with my students!
am kinda doing something similar found this link:
