I didn't know that Dollar General offerd a Grant Program. I am quite surprised by this as they really should concentrate on taking care of their patrons that are injured in the stores. I am refferring to an incident witnessed last year in a DG store in which 2 people slipped in vomit within 20 minutes, and the store did nothing to assist or clean the vomit up. Despite being told about the danger of further injuries, te staff never once made any effort to clean tghe mess up. It was then that I noticed how crowded the aisles were, how dangerously close certain chemicals were displayed, etc. I would think anyone requesting a Grant from this company would do well to have patience. If their response to those injuries is any indication, I rather doubt that they would be in any hurry to part with their precious pennies. Also look at the State Farm grant. It is for $100,000 and do not forget your states grants through your state department of education.

NY just had a grant out for Day Care Centers and it was due two weeks ago. You can go to the New York State Office of Children and Family Services to see when a new grant opportunity will be out again.

I have to agree with Don Davis. Lately there has been a lot more new information as far as New York and the daycare grant programs that they have.
But I am going to have to go back to my old habits and tell you that besides you posting that you want to open a daycare, you haven't said what kind of daycare. Is it going to be a for- profit, a non-profit or a combination of both? Is this daycare going to be located inside or outside of your home?
There are a lot of daycare-related grant programs out there but they are not "one size fits all" kind of grant programs. The kind of grant programs that you can apply for will depend on the kind of daycare it is that you want to open.
I should also emphasize that besides looking in New York for grant programs you should also be looking outside of New York - meaning those grant programs that operate on a national level.

I am interested in starting a job readiness program for teens and don't know how to start it up. This program would be held after school and would teach teens the essential of job seeking, resume writing, and how to interview. It would also assist the teens on how to apply for college, and teen pregnancy prevention.
I just don't know where to start and how do I get the funds. It is well needed in my area.
Where are you? The state of Delaware has a program called Jobs for Delaware Graduates. Their program is ROCK SOLID and extremely successful. Feel free to check it out:

It will probably give you a few ideas, and you could contact them to see how they got started.
I am located in Canton, Mississippi. I will definitely check out the site. Thanks for your response!
