Our school is currently reviewing three separate reading texts with plans to adopt one beginning next September. Can anyone recommend a web site that has impartial criteria on what to look for when evaluating reading texts for grades K-6? Please feel free to e-mail me with any suggestions. Thank you!

Jenn, I am in a similar boat. As principal of an elementary school getting ready to open in the fall, we have currently narrowed our choices to two series. I'm curious, did you get a response for a form, etc?
If so, would you be willing to share what you found? Thanks, bob
Hi everyone. I'm planning on taking the Praxis II in Reading Specialist and was wondering if anyone could advise me about a good book to get. Specifically something that listed all the terminology regarding reading and a synopsis of what each one is. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I am a former elementary school teacher. I write articles for Babyzone.com and am currently working on an article focused on ways to encourage young writers to develop their skills. I'm looking for teacher quotes to include in my article.
Do you know of any good ways to encourage writers to develop their skills at home?
If so, email me your thoughts, your name and the town you teach in and I will include your quote in my article! Please email if you have any questions...Thanks! -Erika Scott
I need suggestions on how other people organize their Harcourt materials. There are way too many pieces to the program and I don't know whether to go files or binders??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for the name of a teaching resource book on Fairy tales. I thought that it was scholastic but I can't find it. It had many fairy tales. You on different days you would read a different version (book) of the same fairy tale and then there was a follow up activity to do like: a wall mural of the 3 bears house that the kids also labeld, a letter to peeter rabbit, naming your goat (3 Billy Goats Gruff...) Anyone familiar with and know the title?
Does anyone have a copy of the hearing and recording sounds sheets for grade 1? Other grades would be helpful too. I would love to have it. Thanks, Allyson
