We are going to have our children wear hats, plus use the book Abuela. I am thinking about having the children write a story about a magic hat that takes them to places they want to see. I am curious if anyone knows how to evaluate an "adventure" story?

I'm in serious need of some really clever, quick, and fresh ideas for middle schoolers for "Read Across America." We've done contests, celebrity readers, trivia, bulletin boards, doors--and the students seem to have a "this is for little kids" attitude about it all. Help!!

Help!! i saw somewhen a "whoville hair day" where students and faculty wear their hair as wild as possile as one of dr. Seuss's wildest hair characters. i'm nt sure if md. school would be too cool for that or not, but it'd be fun!

I am planning on having a Seuss Hat Day, where everyone will
decorate a hat with a scene or a part from their favorite
Dr. Seuss book.
