It's that time of year again! I am once again organizing our annual 50 State Valentine Exchange. It has been SO successful in the past and has included grades pre-k through sixth! Teachers that have done this exchange with me before say that this is the best one that they have ever done!
Here's how it works: Your class(or combination of classes or entire grade level) will make 49 valentines to mail to each of the US states, except the one you live in. In return, you will receive a valentine card from each US state. There are no guidelines for the cards except that they should be made, not store bought.
I need someone from each of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticutt, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
You must live in the state you represent. I will take the first one from each state to contact me. (Only one per state) If your state is not listed, I already have someone from your state. Please only contact me if you will follow through with your commitment to participate. We've had GREAT success rate in the past. Email me personally, not on the chat board, if you would like to represent your state: [email removed]

I haven't been to this board for some time, and I really have lost track of who has emailed me personally asking for the materials and who has just posted on this site. If you haven't heard from me, please email me directly at [email removed].
Please could you send me any details and copies of spider etc. that you send out. I would love to do this with my class in the fall. Thank you. Jenny Reyes

I would like to see a copy of the spider you sent out. I do Charlotte's Web with my 3rd Graders and this would be great to add to the project. Do you also have the letter that you sent? Thank you,

I am a project manager with a program called Asthma 411; a joint project with the St. Louis Regional Asthma Consortium and St. Louis University. We have developed an integrated curriculum that address the Missouri Show Me Standards and enhances teaching in the core subjects using asthma as a real-world learning example.
We are looking for 4th and 5th grade teachers, specifically in the St. Louis Public Schools and the near North County school districts who would be interested in teaching this curriculum. If you are interested and/or if you have any questions, please contact me at [email removed].
I'm very interested in knowing more about what you're doing with the curriculum and how it's different from the other curricula I've come across. After working in a Montessori school for a couple years I believe using the method has the potential to be a highly effective way of presenting the topic of asthma.
Any information you can share with me about your curriculum would be most helpful.
Good day, I am interested in a possible collaboration with your school. Please review this lesson and let me know if you or someone you know (social studies teachers, area high schools, adult educators) would like to use this as a school project: [link removed]
I created it for students that read at the 6th to 8th grade level, while aligning it to specific Florida high school (Sunshine State) standards, social studies completion competency requirements for students preparing for the GED exam, and national technology standards.
The lesson actually integrates subjects covering areas such as: History, Language Arts, Law, and Debate while directing students to research and work collaboratively. Through this lesson the student will use critical thinking skills and learn cultural sensitivity while addressing real-life content.
My "larger picture" vision is that if we can teach our students to learn more about what has occurred in the past and think about what's occurring in our world today, they can help make a difference in society for their children tomorrow.
Please give interested parties my name and email. If they give me specific standards that the lesson addresses for there school, state, nation, I'll be happy to add it to the Standards page.
I encourage teachers to look at the Standards page first and read the note to teachers on the bottom, prior to looking through the lesson.
