I would love to find some other classrooms interested in a "LEAF EXCHANGE" for the fall of '06. If you are interested, please email me your name and location and I will put together a list. Please respond by Sept. 1st so we have enough time to send out addresses and collect leaves to mail. Thanks!

Our project centers around a stuffed puppy named Ollie! He wants to travel across the country meeting children from each state. We are looking for a participating class from EACH OF THE 50 STATES! (This project combines a traveling buddy and a 50 state postcard exchange)
TO LEARN MORE… [link removed].
Ollie will travel around the country. He will have time to visit each class for ONE DAY ONLY. If he stayed longer, and it took him a week to get to the next state, it would end up taking almost a full year for his journey (remember, there are 50 states and 52 weeks in a year)!! We want to hurry him along on his journey so that he is able to make a full trip around the United States before school lets out for summer (many let out in May).
Each class will send a postcard to the other classes to let them know that Ollie has arrived safely. We can learn more about your area if you also include other information about your state.
Please also send 1-2 paragraphs by email describing what your class did with Ollie. Include digital pictures and/or links to your classroom or school web pages! I will add this to his online travel journal, so all classes can keep track of his travels!

I teach 2nd graders at a school in Chicago, Illinois, USA. My kids are 100% African American and many of them are low income students who have not experienced much in their lives. I am doing a project this year called Passport to the World, in which they will learn about all 7 continents and the people that reside in their countries. For instance, while studying North America, we will look at the United States too. We will also examine nicknames for the 50 states and information about them. So we would like to include pictures of the United States as well. Because of this, I am looking to do some kind of picture or letter exchange with other teachers in various states and countries. Basically, we would write you a letter and send you a few pictures of Chicago and we would like a letter back with a few pictures of your city or country. My kids would learn a great deal from this.

Hallo
Hi I am a combined 6 and 7 grade teacher at a German International School. Most of my students are ESL students and a letter exchange is a great idea.
Hi, I would like to begin a project similar to the ones described on these response strings. I teach 3rd grade. Many of them are hispanic. I would like to begin a penpal project with them where they share cultural interests, similarities, and differences with their penpal. If anybody is interested please let me know.

Hi all, I am looking for pictures of places around the country and the world. I am doing a "Passport to the World" year long curriculum unit in which my students will be diving into the 7 continents of the world and countries within them. there is also a focus on the United States and United States history. Because of this project, I think it would benefit the students to see real pictures of other places. I would hang them up in room and allow the students to see. If you would be willing to help a teacher out in collecting photographs, please respond or send me an email at [email removed].
Hey this sounds fun. Where did you get your passport? On 8/01/06, mar wrote: > On 7/12/06, Rebecca wrote: >> Hi all, >> I am looking for pictures of places around the country >> and the world. I am making a coaster out of a 1/4-inch thick piece of blue agat.
One: am I correct in assuming that the hardness of blue agat is appropriate to resist chipping and breakage in use as a coaster?
Two: the edges are given to rub off in the form of particles of the material. How can I most easily seal the edges so this doesn't happen without marring the appearance? What would I use?
I still need many states to complete a postcard exchange. We are sharing facts about our communities. If you are interested, check to see if your state is still needed and email me at the account listed below: AK, AZ, CO, DC, DE, HA, ID, IW, KS, KY, MD, MN, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WY
Please put your state name in the subject line and send to Postcard_Exchangeyahoo.com If you are unsure, I will be happy to answer any questions that you have.
