For the past three years, our Kindergarten students have
been studying science trends over time with the addition
of a bird feeder just outside of our classroom window.
Daily, when the students do calendar, they do the same old
weather and such - but we added having them count the
number of birds at the feeder, what colors of birds are
there, and how much seed was eaten daily. It's been an
amazing project for students to find application to tally
marks, graphing, and more.

We've decided to branch out this year and see if other
Kindergarten classes in North America would be interested
in linking up with ours to share similar data from their
rooms. This would give us a chance to compare graphs, talk
about migration patterns of birds, and learn more about
other communities.

If you're interested in joining with us, we'd love you to
hear from you.
