    Dear fellow educators,

I am organizing a POSTCARD EXCHANGE for the upcoming school year 2009-2010. I would like it very much to have successful turnout of all the states (provinces and territories are welcome!). My classes and I have enjoyed this experience tremendously over the years.

This project works well when all participan...See More

Fur Man What's wrong with women not shaving? My wife hasn't shaved her legs, armpits, or any part of her body in years. She just trims herself every once in awhile. There is nothing like the feeling of fur to keep you warm under the covers on a sub zero night. Liberals like us are the reason why global warming hasn't destroyed the earth yet. Also, we don't...See More

I have a situation where I would like other people's opinion. Two weeks ago, my schools enrollment went up and my principal asked if I would like to teach on my conference period (which is an extra $10,000). Everything was going great until another teacher found out that because of the master schedule, they would have to change their conference per...See More
OMG Yes, that teacher was annoying and petty. You gave up way more than he/she did, and with way less complaining. I hope for your school's sake that someone calls that teacher's bluff and he/she will have to quit.

I am currently in the process of getting a teaching certificate in the state of Idaho (I will graduate in May). I am going to be able to teach secondary sciences (chemistry, biology, physics, and earth science) and I was wondering how difficult it might be for a new teacher to find a job in Alaska.

I am planning on going to the ATP job fai...See More
Anchortown teacher I would recommend staying on the road system especially if it's your first year of teaching. Check out Anchorage School District, Kenai Borough, Matsu, and Fairbanks N. Star Borough.

I am in elementary, so don't really know what the high school job market is like.

The cost of living in Anchorage is high. It's tough to make it on...See More

    Hello All,

I had a really tough time finding a teaching job. I have an early childhood education degree and have recently become interested in teaching in Alaska. I was wondering what are some of the financial benefits of teaching in Alaska and how good are my chances of finding a job in an urban area with my major?
